Setting

Indoor and outdoor

For foreign visitors, 150 baht for a child and 300 baht for an adult. Thai children pay 40 baht and Thai adults 80 baht.

The island's original aquarium, opened in 1983 and run by the Phuket Marine Biological Center, a government research station. It focuses on the Andaman Sea's own marine life, with a short walk-through tunnel and sea turtles the centre rescues and cares for. It is smaller and older than Aquaria, but a fraction of the price.

Worth knowing

It is about 20 minutes from Phuket Town and pairs well with lunch at the Cape Panwa seafood restaurants. Do not confuse it with Aquaria, the newer and much more expensive aquarium in Central Phuket Floresta.
